The inspiration came from the breakwater groynes preventing erosion of our beautiful beach. I imagine her as the Protector of the Shore. The groyne was slab build and she was sculpted onto the body of the post. Solent Seascape Hand sculpted from stoneware clay, with porcelain detail on the crest of the tide. Glazed and then decorated with reclaimed glass from bottles, before being fired. The wooden sea breakers are textured raw clay.
